Actually with a bit more playing I think that the SMTP routing option needs
a name to go to you cannot put an IP address in there? Anyone know it
doesn't say anything in the text about that?

Thanks Bleddyn

Email Forwarding

Bleddyn Williams

I have tried to set up email forwarding before with no success from a system
running JustMail to a system acting as an SMTP server. I could get mail to
go into the JustMail system from the front end 150 which was OK. But I have
just been playing with the firewall option under SMTP settings and this
seems to be the easiest way to get a system to send email through another
machine i.e. AS/400?

Is this the simplest method can anyone see any disadvantages in this? Would
it work for a back end system running Lotus Notes on the 400? If I set the
system to forward all SMTP mail outbound through a 150?

The only thing I did spot was to enable the firewall route, I had to end
both SMTP and the MSF before it started. Just ending SMTP didn't reset
anything.

Thanks
Bleddyn
