I don't have the System Handbook at hand, but the 7600 seems to be the
internal disks, so a couple of things I would do:
a) check in the wrkdsksts the status of the unit
b) if you are in V3R1 or later do a WRKHDWRSC *STG to find the serial number
of the disk.
or
c) do an STRSST option 3 Wrk with dsk units / option 1 Dsp dsk
configuration/option 1 Dsp dsk configuration status / F9 dsp details.
These are the option in a RISC machine, may be they are different in a CISC
one but this is the general idea ).

Just a doubt: are you going to replace it by yourself? If not, then the IBM
CE would handle all the burden.
