IGNITe/400 Mailing List Archive Entry
Eight was the number of multi-homed IP addresses that could be active on a
single physical interface. That number is now 128. I haven't seen a
published maximum on the number of active connections.

It's eight on a CISC box, probably eight per Ethernet card. You can
configure more than eight, but only eight can be active at any one time.
