IGNITe/400 Mailing List Archive Entry
I have just been looking at a machine for someone where I can do the
following. I am able to ping any address apart from the interface addresses
on the AS/400. So I can ping the PC I am working from, from the AS/400, I
can ping the IGNITe/400 site across the Internet from the 400. But when I
ping the address of the Interface (there is only one on the machine) I
cannot ping it. Yet from a PC I can ping it, and from here in the office
across the Internet I can ping it.

Anyone any ideas on what this can be. Am I right in thinking that where as a
ping for Ethernet doesn't hit the network if I try the AS/400 interface, a
Ping with Token Ring does go out onto the network even when its going to the
local card?

Thanks
Bleddyn
