Where is the file IFS or QSYS? I've had very good success with WS_FTP which
is free for the download from www.tucows.com. It seems to navigate the
AS/400's FTP server better than most other clients that I've tried.

You might try building a symbolic link in an IFS directory ADDLNK command
without the "." and download the link. That would leave the original file
as is and give you a name that is easier to deal with. a symbolic link is
just a pointer to any file on the machine in any location QSYS, IFS,
QOpenSys, etc.

Ftp advise.......

Juan Janczuk

Hi, people!

I've just a little problem FTP'ing to an AS/400, trying to GET a file with
an embedded dot in its name (ie. xx.nnnn).
I tried do OVRDBF it, but it didn't work.
I tried in both "naming conventions", without any result....

Any ideas????

Thanks in advance.
